Why a Clean-Up?

Your participation in this day is important; waste in nature has an impact that we sometimes don't even imagine:

86% of waste collected are made of plastic, these can fragment into smaller and smaller pieces until they disappear from view (microplastics), but remain in the water or soil. Leached by rain and carried by the water cycle, they can then find their way into our rivers, lakes and downstream seas. Waste also has an impact on wildlife, which can mistake it for food, with serious consequences. consequences. This is also how some plastic waste enters our food chain. our food chain.

A cigarette butt, despite its small size, releases over 150 toxic substances for the environment. It can seep into water sources, harming aquatic life. Despite their bio-decomposition, organic waste can still harm the balance of ecosystems, introducing/attracting non-native species and spreading disease. For all these reasons, it's important to pick up any garbage you find lying around, large or small, and not to leave it behind. no trace of its passage.

Don't pick up anything you consider dangerous
